I’ve been coming here since I was in grad school in Boulder, so almost 30 years now. I actually live in Denver, but I still come up here because I established a good relationship of trust and that’s really important. And I also like that there’s just a positive vibe in this office. So obviously people don’t particularly enjoy going to the dentist, but it’s always a good positive experience. They don’t waste your time here, they don’t waste your money.
The overall quality has just been outstanding. I always feel like everything is explained to you, and, again, there’s no upselling. There’s a purpose behind everything. And what I really like about Dr. Alber is he always seems to stay on top of all the technology that’s happening in his industry. There’s always kind of something new when you come in for a checkup and the process is always kind of just seamless. Dr. Alber is just a good guy.
I think it’s always important for them to level set, and he always does that and gives you good recommendations and also explains to you things that aren’t necessary, right? You know, there’s always a good rationale behind everything that he recommends, and it makes a lot of sense. And again, there’s just a lot of knowledge that he brings because he stays on top of everything that’s happening in the industry both in terms of technology. Like I know that he attends a lot of conferences, and it’s just that knowledge base and relatability that’s super important, and that’s what he brings to the table.

I had braces when I was younger, but as I got older, I didn’t always wear my retainer, so there was some shift, some movement. And then also as I got older, I noticed that there was some shift on the back side of my teeth that I thought would make me just look a little sunken in. And I thought maybe Invisalign could help with that by expanding the back part and just giving me a little bit more of a fuller face. And Dr. Alber walked through all of those things and explained what it would do, what it would not do.
My sister and other friends in other states tried different options, and it was night and day compared to what they had and then the experience I had with Invisalign here. I think Dr. Alber doesn’t ever do anything halfway, so if he’s gonna take on a new product or procedure, it’s all the way. And that’s what happened with the Invisalign, and I’m super thrilled with the results.
One of the advantages for sure is not having to have braces and metal in your mouth. The other is I think I lost about eight pounds during that time. Another one is it makes you think about your eating habits. That’s not one of the things that Invisalign means to do, but you kind of start questioning. I love it. I think it’s great. I wear the Invisaligns at night. Some nights, I forget, and it’s still there, and they’re just really easy to manage and handle. And knock on wood, I haven’t lost my Invisalign like I did my retainers because there’s always a process. You know, you always keep them in the same place. But the outcome is great. I love my teeth, the way they look, and I like my smile.

I had an accident when I was a kid, so I’ve been missing my front three teeth for my whole adult life. And my bridge that was there failed. And that meant that I had to come here for removal of that bridge and then went through the implant process with an oral surgeon in town that worked hand in hand with Dr. Alber and that level of care.
So I had to go through a full rebuild of the front of my mouth and get new implants. There was bone grafting and those kind of things that had to be done because it had become an unhealthy situation that I didn’t know about and it was failing from within. And so I had to restore and rebuild the whole front three teeth that I have. And it was almost two years.
I don’t know the exact months. I used to tell you how many days it was, but that was the whole process from removal and bone grafting and implants and then a new bridge put in. So that was the reason that I came here. They wanted the quality to be there so that they could stand behind what they were installing for me.
And when you’re in the middle of that process, you want it done as fast as possible because you’re tired of the process, but having them stick with it and make sure that they’re doing the right thing for you for a long time.
I’m a happy person, and I greet people with a smile too, but when you have a feeling behind your smile, when you’ve lost it for a period of time just because you lose a lack of confidence in yourself, maybe because the way you think people are looking at you, even if they’re not, when this process was over, I’ve felt a sense of pride in that smile.

My mouth was kind of a hot mess, so I had braces when I was a teenager. And over time, my teeth had kind of moved back to their original position. So I had kind of a big gap between my upper jaw and my lower jaw between my front teeth. And then I had some staining, and it just wasn’t…looking at myself in the mirror, looking at my teeth, it was something more that…I would ignore it more than anything, because I knew that it wasn’t great. He made the recommendation that I should consider Invisalign, and that wasn’t even…at the time, the veneers weren’t even part of the equation. But it was, I think, just kind of a good step just to kind of reset and get everything back in order, I guess you might say, in my mouth at that point, at that stage. And then once the Invisalign was completed, then we had a conversation about the next step, which were the veneers. I feel great. I mean, it’s just made a big difference in terms of my perception of how I feel or project to other people, gives me just a little bit more confidence. I’m happier to smile, and much happier when I look at myself in the mirror.
I love coming here because of the people. They are all pros. You can tell from the details. Details matter here. From the minute you step into the office, the way the office is designed, the way that Joe runs the office, all of the hygienists, everyone knows what their job is and how to execute well and I admire that.
Everyone’s got their own personality but they’re all just excellent at what they do. So they’re incredibly professional. Even for a period of time, I’ve been here for 20 years, I’ve been coming here for 20 years since before I was married, before kids, before all of that and you really get to know people and build relationships but you only see them once every 6 months. And so the fact that they’re so consistent in terms of, again, from the beginning whether you’re scheduling, the reminders, there’s no heavy push into one product or another. You truly feel like they’re trying to solve a problem for you.
Dr. Alber is incredibly knowledgeable and Joe probably has more facts and figures in her head about billing than anyone I’ve ever met and she… You know, it goes a long way to just think about the fact that over those 20 years I’ve changed insurance multiple times as my roles have changed, and even when they were temporarily out of network, I still kept coming here because of that consistent experience and that excellent experience.
The first time I came 20 years ago, I needed a root canal and they were very nice about telling me what I needed to do to take better care of my teeth without it feeling pressured or judged. And really the reason I came in the first time was because I was getting ready to… I wanted my teeth whitened for my wedding but little did I know there was many other things that needed to happen before that. So they were just great at guiding me to the right solutions without the pressure.

I love coming to the Alber Dental Studio because it returned a smile to my face. I had a lot of work done here. It wasn’t easy work and it was a long process, and they made that process enjoyable, they made that process fun, they made it comfortable, and they made a lifetime customer out of me. The quality of care has been great. I have not had more better fillings in my mouth in a long time. I mean, it’s something we deal with every day and it just feels good. All parts of it, the structure, the smile, the quality, everything that’s there feels good. It feels great.
My experience here has been enjoyable. And I say that because I’ve been through a lot of the process and I still come here for routine cleanings and I still get the same feeling when I come which is I enjoy the experience. I don’t dread coming here because you’re going to the dentist. I’m like, “It’ll be good.” It’s an enjoyable experience. So, I think all of that comes together because of the way everybody here is working as a team, you know, to make sure that they’re giving you a standard of care that they’re proud of, that makes me feel that way, and that’s why I enjoy coming here.
I’ve gotten to know him, Dr. Alber, in a way of…when I was very vulnerable in the sense that you don’t have any front three teeth. So, for him being able to see the end result and know what it’s going to be because of what he can do, that’s impactful, that’s great.

I’m trying to think back 30 years ago, but remembering, you know, having to go in very regularly to get things tightened and cranked on. And with Invisalign, you’re popping by to get your new trays, so there’s no need for long appointments to get anything like that done. The initial treatment when they put everything on and then you’ve just got your trays. And so, only time that you would come in for a regular checkup or something that would take a little bit longer is if you were having current problems with how your trays were fitting. And if there are no problems, you just come and get your new trays, and you go on your way. So, it was a pretty smooth process.
I think it just gives you a sense of confidence. You know, when I go into work and we have our performance evaluation, I’ve had the same supervisor now for 10 years, and he always says, “You walk around with a smile on your face.” So, I always have…even prior to Invisalign, I think, smiling is just a nice way to greet people. I think it makes people feel comfortable, makes them feel like you’re happy, maybe makes them happy. So, it extends extends pretty far with your communication with someone else. And then to now know I don’t feel any hesitation there, it just feels comfortable because I know what it looks like. So, it just gives you that little boost of confidence there.
